Drafting will start 12:00PM EST Tuesday, May 28 If necessary, I will utilize a tiebreaker of my choosing. Tied matches slow down the draft and could possibly be avoided if everyone votes. If you plan on participating, plan on voting. Length of voting time will be adjusted accordingly for additional matches. First Round match-ups will be posted once all picks have been made and will remain open for a reasonable amount of time. Leave your picks with someone if you know you won’t be available to post. A second missed pick will result in automatic removal and any picks will be dead. If a participant misses a draft pick, they may make it up at the end of the draft. You are responsible for following the draft order. Participants will have 10 hours to make their selections. with the people at each end drafting twice.

We will be utilizing a snake draft that goes from top to bottom, bottom to top, etc. Players may draft 6 cover songs and their original. You must have voted or participated in a previous B-D draft. There will be no add-ons once the first round has been completed. If you would like to participate, SIGN UP HERE. Sign-ups will be open until 11:00PM EST, Sunday, May 26. Points will be awarded at the end of the draft for each local band drafted and will count towards voting. Your pick must be a cover song and the band must not yet be a national act. An example would be “Blue Suede Shoes” which was originally recorded by Carl Perkins in 1956 and covered by Elvis the same year.īONUS POINTS: In an effort to help your local talent get some exposure, bonus points will be awarded to anyone who drafts an artist/band from your city or region. Many artists/bands have covered Elvis Presley songs, but many of those songs are also covers. Special attention should be made when posting the “original” version. Any player may pick an original, but once a cover song has been drafted, no one else may pick that particular cover. Judging should be on the cover version and not the original.

This is a Covers only draft with players drafting a cover song as well as the original. The concept for this draft was suggested by over a year ago and I’m adding a bit of a twist that comes from a suggestion made by during last year’s Song Draft. The idea behind the “flash draft” is to get a quick, short draft in before the next big film draft. Cover Themed EP Song Draft - Discussion Thread
